College football is always full of surprises.
You know, like when a team pretends to call for a fair catch on a punt, only to take the ball back the other way for a score when the other team falls for the subterfuge.
Granted, this doesn't happen often, but it absolutely did when North Texas invaded Arkansas this weekend.
Check it out:
Well, that's just mean-spirited.
Apparently, the Mean Green have been practicing this play for quite some time but finally decided to lift the curtain on their little ruse against Arkansas.
The play involved some inspired method acting from the entire team as well as the singular courage of punt returner Keegan Brewer, as dude had to just stand there while the Razorbacks screamed down the field.
It was executed flawlessly.
Of course, a play like this one also requires the full cooperation of your opponent.
Clearly, a Razorback isn't the smartest of animals, because that simply shouldn't happen.
The complete lack of focus and concentration exhibited by Arkansas is a hallmark of a Bret Bielema-coached squad, but he was actually handed $12million and asked to leave the state last year after running the program into the ground.
Hopefully, things are still good at home, though.
By the way, North Texas tore Arkansas into tiny little pieces, winning 44-17 in Fayetteville.
Clearly, the foundation is still in place.
