Buckeyes Break Out the Kryptonite on Wolverines

For what it's worth, Michigan beat Maryland by 21 in the Big House and didn't have the pleasure of meeting Purdue.

Keeping in mind it was their first game of the season, the Wolverines looked lost but respectable against Notre Dame.

And whoever thought a comparison beyond records could be made between the 10-1 Michigan and 10-1 Washington State?

No matter what sorta season those two are having these days ...

  • The Cougs can't get past Washington and haven't in five years, and
  • Coach Khaki's crew has dropped four straight to Ohio State as part of Michigan's seven-game skid -- and 14 of the last 15 -- in the rivalry.

In the latter, it's tough enough getting pounded by players representing a stylized pine cone, but this year, Michigan's woeful showing was enough to risk excommunication from the nation's wolverine community.

All of them.

The Buckeyes totally and utterly dismantled the nation's leading defense to the tune of a 62-39 nuking.

To celebrate, the victors posted a 62-second video showcasing vanquished fans.

No.

If you're a Wolverine, this is the worst:

Clearly, Buckeye slinger Dwayne Haskins was relieved he didn't have to face the Terrapin secondary again.

It showed:

Harbaugh spent last summer doing some serious re-tooling, especially with the running game. Seems like he shoulda been studying Chip Kelly's spacing schemes rather than one built around Bronko Nagurski.

Maybe Alabama can get away with a bruising inside game, but sometimes you've gotta wonder if Nick Saban does that to just dick around for a while between long scoring plays.

Meanwhile, what to make of the Buckeyes?

More to the point, what will the Cabal make of the Buckeyes?

Before they're forced to get what passes for serious, Northwestern gets a shot at hoping the Maryland-Purdue Buckeyes show up.

Harbaugh, on the other hand, will soon be wiping down his greaseboard and starting over. Again.
