LaVar Ball Thinks His Kid Is Better Than Steph Curry

It's perfectly normal for a proud father to talk up his kid.

However, it can sometimes spiral out of control.

In the case of Lonzo Ball and his dad, that line has been completely obliterated.

The OG Ball has really cranked up the public hyperbole recently, and these assorted hot takes are not doing his son any favors.

Brace yourself:

Oh no!

It's unclear whether dude actually believes this madness, but he definitely said it into a microphone.

There's no point in even comparing the two bodies of work, but ...

  • Steph Curry is a two-time NBA MVP and has a ring.
  • Lonzo Ball is a college freshman.

The elder Ball has made other remarks, as well.

For whatever reason, he's under the impression that the NBA will be easier for his son than the NCAA.

He also feels his kid will be the No 1 pick in the 2017 NBA draft.

That statement is somewhat rooted in reality, although the earned part is a bit suspect.

There was also recent talk about Lonzo only playing for the Lakers.

This type of talk from a father is dangerous, but there's certainly precedent for players dictating where they'll play professionally.

Anyway, the OG did walk these comments back a bit, saying he merely wishes for his son to play in LA and be groomed by Magic Johnson.

We can no doubt look forward to more of the crazy talk from Daddy Ball in the future.
