This Week in NBA Litigation

Professional athletes are people, too.

It's weirdly refreshing when these dudes have to deal with the same issues as us mere mortals.

For example, Golden State Warriors big man JaVale McGee is currently being sued by a former landlord in Texas.

It appears that during his brief stint with the Dallas Mavericks, McGee may have taken some liberties with a rental property.

According to the lawsuit, the journeyman center caused extensive damage to an apartment, although there were no specifics provided.

In addition, he apparently decided to stop paying rent at some point.

We can only speculate as to whether or not a hole in the wall was part of this aforementioned damage.

However, speaking of cats, there's an additional twist to this tale.

Pets were strictly forbidden from being kept in this apartment, but that didn't stop McGee from keeping a cat on the premises.

But this was no ordinary cat.

This particular cat is completely hairless, and goes by the name of Raja.

Incredibly, the lawsuit includes $9,350 in what was termed "cat-related fees" that McGee and possibly Raja may have to pay.

If there's a silver lining to this nonsense, it does appear that there was no pornography involved.

Hopefully, this unfortunate business won't distract McGee and the Warriors as they prepare to do battle with Cleveland yet again in the NBA Finals.
