Wizards' Owner Is Soliciting Advice from Pretty Much Everyone

Mostly thanks to the cringe-worthy incompetence of former GM Ernie Grunfeld, the Washington Wizards have remained a large pile of failure for the better part of this century.

However, the boil that was Grunfeld has finally been lanced, so the Wizards in theory can start anew.

Of course, Big Ern left much salary cap wreckage in his wake, so these changes will be more philosophical at the beginning.

This brings us to owner Ted Leonsis, who is now tasked with figuring out how a functional NBA front office operates.

It's also really sad, but we feel compelled to pat Leonsis on the head and tousle his hair for trying.

Part of his effort to be the owner of a normal NBA franchise has involved seeking outside counsel, which he's apparently been doing on a regular basis.

In fact, some reports indicate that Teddy has spoken to upwards of 78 people in a desperate attempt to figure this shit out.

And he's also strayed beyond the world of sports on his journey of discovery, even consulting such political luminaries as former president Barack Obama.

The noted hoops enthusiast discussed a completely necessary culture change for the Wizards, while probably still mulling over the UCLA head coaching position offered by Bill Walton.

No word yet on whether Leonsis has spoken to Condi Rice, who continues to shun the Cleveland Browns.

Clearly, OG's doing the best he can, so we should be as supportive as possible.

Godspeed, sir.
