New Balance Chooses the Dynamic Kawhi Leonard as Sneaker Spokesman
When one thinks of charismatic NBA players who'd be great at endorsing shoes, the name Kawhi Leonard doesn't necessarily leap to mind.
While obviously a superior talent, the brand new Toronto Raptor isn't exactly the most engaging human being.
In fact, he may not be human at all.
However, New Balance doesn't seem to care.
The shoe behemoth just signed the sophisticated basketball robot to an endorsment deal as they attempt to re-establish a foothold in the high stakes NBA shoe game.
Actually, Leonard walked away from Jordan Brand to join New Balance, spurning the former after they apparently lowballed him on an offer.
While our cyborg friend is laughing awkwardly to the bank with his new deal, the Internet is also laughing.
But for different reasons.
My dad is stoked

A theme's developing here.
New Balance: Kawhi, congratulations on the deal, what did you have in mind for a design?

While New Balance certainly isn't the most exciting brand, we hope this relationship brings Kawhi some measure of happiness.
