NBA Hits 'Pause' after Gobert Got a Poz for Corvid-19

Watch the dominoes fall now.

Just before the Utah Jazz were getting set for the opening tipoff in Oklahoma City, the announcement arrived that Rudy Gobert had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, aka Covid-19.

Not that he's gonna get more than two weeks of flu-like discomfort outta the experience, but that's not the point.

Just by being a carrier, he and any other healthy human specimen with strong immune systems can become a lethal weapon if he exposes others who are more vulnerable to it.

If only the USA government woulda taken action as swiftly as the NBA.

Maybe Gobert being a smartass-dumbass by doing the touchy-feeling thing at his presser segment hastened the decision:

Frankly, there's not much doubt this is gonna get worse before it gets better.

Precaution is the order of the day, and that goes especially for those who could be Covid-19 carriers:

This is why the Pittsburgh Pirates went beyond the extra mile when they found out a single resident of Bradenton, Florida -- home of their Spring Training facility -- and wiped down the entire complex.

This is also why it's odds-on we're going to see more of it.

Unlike the NBA season, and there's no doubt its decision to hit the puase button is only the tip of the sports world's iceberg.
