Mavericks Have Their Own Version of a Full-Court Press

Dirk's disgusted.

He should be.

Mark Cuban says he's surprised.

He shouldn't be.

It's his operation. On and off the court.

It's understandable that Cuban prefers to concentrate on the glory side of his franchise, but as he is obviously aware -- and said so -- it's his responsibility to oversee everything that transpires.

Reaction has been all over the map.

The difference between this situation and Donald Sterling's with the Clippers is direct involvement:

  • Sterling was damned by his overt actions, while
  • Cuban is remiss because of his inactions, for whatever reason.

Ironically, the Mavs owner took an interesting stance on forcing Sterling outta the league. However, it was more philosophical than sympathetic.

But there was nothing philosophical about what the victims in the Dallas front office were experiencing.

The big picture here obviously needs to be addressed, but the focus should be on those who were suffering the brunt of it all. They'll no doubt be compensated, but that does nothing to heal the emotional scars.
