Blake Snell Enters the Pantheon of Unusual MLB Injuries

It appears the prestigious group of former and current MLB dignitaries who've suffered strange or embarrassing injuries will be welcoming a new member.

Tampa Bay Rays ace Blake Snell was accepted into this proud fraternity after an unfortunate incident in his home bathroom.

Apparently, the 2018 AL Cy Young Award winner had just finished up a shower when his day got so much worse.

For whatever reason, Snell has a three-piece decorative set made of granite adorning his bathroom that he was suddenly compelled to move.

 

As you may have already surmised, this decision was ill-fated, with one of these three granite pieces detaching and landing on his foot.

Sadly, this puts Snell on the injured list with a fractured toe and a bruised ego.

We'll let the dude himself sheepishly explain in more detail:

 

Well, imagine how much he enjoys looking at it now.

 

As Snell indicated, he should only miss one start, which at least gives the American League a brief reprieve from the 26 -year old's continued dominance.

Meanwhile, we must ponder where this silly MLB injury ranks among other silly MLB injuries of the past.
