Son's Stunner and Alli's 50th Spur Tottenham over Foxes

It was time for someone else to find twine.

Harry Kane, and Christian Eriksen both began this match on the bench so they'd be fresh for Tottenham's midweek battle against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

So they were relieved to see an inspired Heung-Min Son and an effective Dele Alli to step up on the road and account for the ledger entries in a 0-2 result over Leicester City.

Kane and Eriksen would enter during the game's late stages, but Spurs had everything under control even before they got in a brief run.

A few, actually.

Spurs took the match to City from the start, but chances were few, until the verge of the break.  Wes Morgan saved the Foxes with a providential tackle on Alli at the penalty spot, but it set the stage for things to come.

That's when Son struck in time added on. The South Korean international received a pass from Serge Aurier and curled home an effort from distance, straight into Kasper Schmeichel's top far corner:

Even though Tottenham had more than their share of possession, the second goal didn't come until the 58th minute.

That's when Lucas Moura slid into Son but couldn't stop his cross to Alli, who nodded in his 50th goal for Spurs, this one at the far post:

Leicester  was stifled all night, barely threatening Hugo Lloris.

Ironically, while the Spaniard had time to read a book amid while brushing aside only three shots on goal, that was still one more than Tottenham took.

Yup.

Spurs were 2-for-2 in the category that counts.

Mauricio Pochettino's side might want to give Barça more business in a couple of days. Could be why he wanted Kane and Eriksen to have fresh legs.

Dude's A-Team will be ready.
