Manchester United Goes 'Who's Your Daddy' on Liverpool
It's still the Premiership clash that electifies England's northwest when it pops up on the schedule.
In fact, it's almost always destination viewing.
There are derby matches and there are arch-nemeses, but nothing defines the term rivalry better than when Manchester United meets Liverpool.
When they get together, more than three points are on the line. It's for bragging rights, as well.
For now, it's the 'Pool that has to zip it, as United chose to rope-a-dope the Reds, and it worked.
Despite managing only 32% possession and taking only two shots on goal, their strategy produced a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.
The player made in Manchester, for Manchester -- Marcus Rashford -- scored in the 14th minute, and what a finish it was:
With the World Cup around the corner, his position could well be secured.
Liverpool went through a déjà vu when Rashford struck again 10 minutes later.
The long ball game is a bit too much for the 'Pool's defense to handle, it seems.
In matches like this, a late goal conceded to serve as a lovely parting gift is usually on the cards.
It was here, too, but it came wrapped with a ribbon and a big, shiny bow when Eric Bailey did the own-goal thing:
Gotta say, as own goals go, that one took extra effort.
It just goes to show how special this rivalry really is.
