Manchester United Finally Reach a Euro-Final
After so many seasons of staring at dry wells, Manchester United finally hit a gusher in European competition.
The Red Devils found it in the lovely parting gift that is the Europa Cup, but hell, after a nine-year drought, it'll do.
After celebrating a League Cup like it was a Champions Cup earlier this season, dudes have shown they're not as arrogantly picky as they've been in other eras.
United had the upper hand against Celta Vigo coming into the match, as they led the Spanish side, 1-0, from the first leg. The return meeting ended in a 1-1 stalemate, which is all the English giants needed to advance.
The Célticos were by far the toughest opponent the Devils faced in the Europa competition. Still, it only took them 17 minutes to find a solution, with the finish coming from a quite unlikely figure in Marouane Fellaini:
Such a cross must be a padded delight for Fellaini's bushy bean.
The battle went to and fro for virtually the rest of the match until, like always, the United defense paid yet another homage to the Keystone Cops.
Did Facundo Roncaglia intend it to go that side?
No matter. A goal.
The Devils' defense held its ground for the final five minutes, and will now gird for what's actually gonna be an enticing Europa final against Amsterdam's Ajax.
And the other probable Premiership qualifiers for Europe next season can look on without trepidation.
