FC Bayern Takes That Which Is Theirs for the 6th Straight Time

There are now munchkins graduating from kindergarten who only know one way.

From the time they were born, all they've ever seen is FC Bayern München treating the Bundesliga like it's their bitch.

Mainly, because it is.

Every year for the past six, a challenger or two arises. Every year, it's swept aside like old match-day programs.

Die Roten just made their one for the whatever official this afternoon in one of the more inevitable results this season, a 1-4 Zerstörung of those token resisters from Augsburg.

True, Die Fuggerstädter -- if only that family would get involved -- fought gamely, even getting tossed a bone on an own-goal in the 18th minute, but really ...

With another formality on the docket this Wed 11 Apr -- finishing off Sevilla in the Champions League quarters -- and six regulars resting for it, everyone still knew the Red Wave was coming.

And come it did:

Bayern's quest for a treble is still on the cards, as they're also favored in their DFB-Pokal semi-final at Bayer Leverkusen.

Full marks to them, then. There are other large, well-financed clubs in Germany, but when the rubber meets the road -- with the occasional exception of Borussia Dortmund -- they're nowhere to be seen.

Unless, of course, it's the transfer market and Bayern needs something.
