Cherries Turn Chelsea Red, Slam Blues 4-0

Ironically, even after the massacre he'd just witnessed, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri actually said that it was impossible for Chelsea to lose by four goals at Bournemouth.

But it wasn't. The Blues just did.

Frankly, it was hard to believe that, of the two teams on the pitch, it was the Cherries who'd just emerged from a bad patch where they'd dropped 11 of their last 14 matches in all competitions.

Incredibly, given the 4-0 shellacking the Blues absorbed, they actually had the run of play for most of the match. In fact, this was a 0-0 affair at the half, thanks to Cherries 'keeper Artur Boruc, who earned his paycheck, stopping Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovačić.

So whatever Sarri imparted to his crew in the dressing room, he should bin it immediately. This was Chelsea's worst Premiership defeat in 23 years.

Not sure what was in Bournemouth's juice boxes during the intermission, but dudes broke from the gate buzzing in the second 45.

They only needed 90 seconds to take a lead.

David Brooks received a good looping pass on the left side and low-crossed it to Joshua King, who roofed a missile past Kepa Arrizabalaga:

In the 63rd, King and Brooks combined once more.

King fed a speeding Brooks, who blew past Chelsea's defenders -- their offside trap gambit didn't work -- and got into the box. He left David Luiz on the ground and slotted home a classy goal on Kepa's near post:

In the 74th, King showed up once more.

Dude's doing pretty damn fine on his own.

This time, he was racing down the left side when Junior Stanislas collected a pass down Route 1 that released him into the box, where he unselfishly dimed King, who fired over the helpless Kepa:

As seems to be the norm these days, an abundance of stoppage time gave the Cherries an opportunity to pop one more.

It was in the 95th minute, when Jordon Ibe's cross from a set-piece found Charlie Daniels, who finished the proceedings by putting a cherry on top:

Afterward, Sarri spent a long time alone in the dressing room with his players. Maybe he was just complimenting them for making the impossible possible.

He shoulda just gotten the hell outta there. Clearly, that place was cursed.

For the Blues, at least.
