At Old Trafford, United and Arsenal Share the Wealth

The Theatre of Dreams hosted a clash of the big brands that provided plenty of action but did nothing definitive in the Premiership standings.

Dudes wound up producing a 2-2 draw.

It wasn't exactly an elite-level match, and Arsenal surely wound up heading back to London wondering what might've been.

Twice, the Gunners basked in the glory of the goal they scored, and twice, they let their guard down for Manchester United to quickly equalize, which resulted in their getting nowhere.

The opening minutes were full of chances created by both teams, but a plague of offsides neutralized them.

Ultimately, the first goal was struck in the 25th minute when Lucas Torreira sent a perfect corner to Shkodran Mustafi, who buried it:

That bitta flair was cast by the wayside four minutes later by Anthony Martial.

Dude equalized for United after Ander Herrera gathered in a rebound left by Bernd Leno on Marcos Rojo's free kick:

Hence, Arsenal's first WTF moment.

The second half started with United better at attacking than the Gunners, but in the 67th minute, Rojo lost the ball to Alexandre Lacazette near the box.

After trying to block his shot, the Argentine ended up sending the ball to his own net:

Again, this one was far from a classic.

Play No 1 for both sides seemed to be dropping their guard at the wrong moment.

Underscoring that point, just one minute later, Jesse Lingard made things all square once more:

One point gained from this match wasn't enough for Arsenal to keep hold of fourth place in the table -- albeit only on goal difference -- while United were denied a shot at rising above the Blues and Cherries:

If only.
