Arsenal and The 'Pool Share Points at the Emirates

After all was said and done, Jürgen Klopp had the line of the day:

We’ve seen Arsenal do it already a few times this year, when they’ve brought on pretty much all their strikers ... I was actually waiting for Van Persie and Bergkamp.

Dude was referring to Arsenal manager Unai Emery subbing on Danny Welbeck at left back in the 80th minute to help hunt for the goal that would give the Gunners a point in this thoroughly entertaining 1-1 draw.

The Reds struck first, in the 17th minute, through Sadio Mané.

However, his goal was incorrectly disallowed for offside:

Meanwhile, Arsenal kept up the pressure on the 'Pool's defenders -- and had a noticeable majority of possession -- but they couldn't effectively threaten Alisson Becker

On the cusp of the break, Virgil van Dijk almost scored for the Reds, but his header hit Bernd Leno's post.

Liverpool finally broke through in the 61st minute.

The irrepressible Mané got to the left-wing and tried a crossto Mohamed Salah. Leno palmed it away but straight to James Milner, on the edge of the area.

Right place, right time for the cagey veteran:

The Reds likely could've killed the game after that, but Klopp’s crew wasn’t clinical enough to do so for an entire half-hour.

This was confirmed in the 82nd minute when the Gunners leveled things up through Alexandre Lacazette.

Substitute Alex Iwobi got the inlet to the Frenchman inside the box. Alisson tried to tip it away, but dude delivered a spectacular shot, straight into the far corner.

The result kept both sides in the hunt, with the Gunners likely feeling that they stole one.
