Agüero's Milestone Goal Wins Community Shield for Manchester City

There's definitely no championship hangover for the Citizens.

Manchester City kept the same squad that racked up 100 points in the Premiership last season, and they already look like a 2018-2019 version of the finely tuned machine that just claimed its third title in six seasons.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are still finding their way under new boss Maurizio Sarri, after showing Antonio Conte the door in July because why not?

City looked right at home in Wembley Stadium, always dictating the pace as Chelsea couldn't find space anywhere.

In the 13th minute, Phil Foden found none other than Sergio Agüero who fired home his 200th career goal as Citizen striker.

For the rest of the half, Pep Guardiola's side was closer to make it two than Chelsea was to equalize. But nothing else stretched twine before intermission.

Chelsea its one moment when Callum Hudson-Odoi having a good opportunity which he missed.

Then there was a developing situation that Chelsea took for granted.

Maybe they shouldn't have:

On the other hand, Manchester City could have made it two or three with Agüero again. Dude had more than his share of opportunities, as well.

Before the hour mark though, Bernardo Silva armed a counter-attack for City and found the Argentine international, who faced up with Willy Caballero and didn't miss.

And that was that. City, 0-2.

Their silverware count is off to an ominous start.
