Özil Saves Gunners from Red Faces against Newcastle

Arsenal's run for the Premiership title may have gone the way of the dodo bird, but at least they're being tenacious to the very end.

End of games right now, that is.

The Gunners hosted Newcastle United, that sleeping giant along the banks of the Tyne and Wear, and damn near woke 'em up.

It took a brilliant strike by Mesut Özil for Arsenal to slink outta their own ground with a slim 1-0 victory.

And to think they've spent most of last summer and this season trying to get rid of this dude.

Nowadays, it's the same old story for the Gunners.

Either Alexis Sánchez or Özil -- or sometimes both -- nick the Gunners out of trouble and make them three points richer. This time it was Özil’s craftwork that did the trick:

Damn.

Forget what Arsenal thinks. Real Madrid may be sulking about selling him and buying Gareth Bale.

And with that blast, it was just another day, another opponent, and another win for the Gunners.
