The Shot Dude: Rink Recaps

This is the best time of year.

Spring seems to have sprung, and the Stanley playoffs are off to a tremendous start.

One quick look at the bracket reveals that every team in the bracket has picked up a win except the Flyers.

As usual, they're picking up something else.

Your favorite Shot Dude has found some skaters from tonight's four playoff battles to help you build a winning fantasy lineup. These important showdowns can be viewed with the help of the Bovada data tool on our Home page:

Forwards

Aleksander BarkovFlorida ($7400) ... has been the Panthers' main source of shots taken in this series with 19 through the first three games. Dude's a cannon, launching 9 shots in Sunday's game alone! Florida's been a great road team all season. I think they find a way to even this series at two games apiece tonight with Barkov providing some of the scoring punch.

Evgeny KuznetsovWashington ($6100) ... has been another consistent shooter for his team during the playoffs. Dude's averaged five shots per game and scored a goal last game. It's not a question of if, but when the Caps will win this series. Other than Detroit, Philadelphia is the only other playoff team to come in with a minus goal differential, while Washington led the league with a plus-59.

Jason PominvilleMinnesota ($5900) ... has taken over the team's leadership role with Zach Parise out due to an upper-body injury. Dude's 2 goals on 5 shots last game put the Wild back in this series. It looks like Tyler Seguin will miss tonight's game, as he did on Monday. If Minnesota's smart, they'll employ the same game plan that held both Jamie Benn and John Klingberg without a shot between them.

Defensemen

Brent BurnsSan José ($7500) ... really enjoys playing Los Angeles. Even when he doesn't end up on the score sheet, dude's involved in other ways. Burns notched a goal and assist in Game 1, an assist in Game 2, and blasted five shots in Game 3. I think he leads the Sharks to a commanding 3-1 series lead at home tonight.

Shane GostisbeherePhiladelphia ($5100) ...  is getting his first taste of NHL playoff action and holding his own against the best regular-season team. Dude's credited with an assist in Game 2 and shot three times last game. I think the Flyers get this one tonight due to home ice, the injury to Braden Holtby that might slow him down, and a sense of duty to recently fallen owner Ed Snider.

Goaltender

Roberto LuongoFlorida ($8800) ... has been a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde this series so far. Of the 107 shots he's faced in three games, dude's let in five in Game 1, only one in Game 2, and four last game. I think we see Luongo's highly competitive nature that pushed him to win 35 games this season come to the fore and get Florida a win.
