The Shot Dude: Positioning Pucks

With just a few regular season games remaining, there's still some unfinished business.

The ice will be buzzing with 13 games on tap tonight and two playoff spots are up for grabs.

Your favorite Shot Dude has zoned in on some key players ready to help their teams grab a ticket to the postseason and others who can help improve playoff positioning.

Check out all the matchups by consulting the Bovada data tool on our Home page:

Even when the NHL transitions into the playoffs, head over to FanDuel for great fantasy contests.

As for today, don't be shy about including some of these studs when constructing your lineup:

Forwards

Patrice BergeronBoston ($7600) ... has been Boston's best scorer all season with 32 goals on 275 shots in 78 games. Dude's one of just a handful of skaters to average at least four fantasy points/game on FanDuel this season. With Boston fighting Detroit and Philadelphia for the last two playoff spots in the East, you know Bergeron will come out blasting tonight.

Ryan KeslerAnaheim ($6900) ... is coming off a two-goal performance to almost single-handedly defeat Dallas in a 3-1 win last Saturday. Dude's now a 20-goal scorer for the eighth time in his career. Kesler has 24 career points against tonight's opponent, Los Angeles. The Pacific Division crown is yet to be determined, but the winner of this tilt between the Ducks and Kings will be in the driver's seat.

Dylan LarkinDetroit ($4900) ... has had an impressive rookie campaign, with 23 goals on 215 shots so far. His 45 points in 78 games have put him squarely in the Calder Trophy conversation. Dude's helped the Red Wings to three straight wins and 7 victories in their last 10 contests. Detroit is surging, while Boston and Philly have both dropped two straight games.

Defensemen

Drew Doughty, Los Angeles ($6000) ... must love to play bitter rival Anaheim. Dude's taken 11 shots in 4 games this season, connecting on a goal and two assists. Doughty has collected 23 career points against Anaheim, the team his Kings are tied with at 99 points atop the Pacific. With home ice, I give the Kings the edge here, but with neither goaltender standing on his head lately, this game could net a plethora of lit lamps.

Shayne GostisbeherePhiladelphia ($5100) ... has his team on the verge of a playoff berth, but the Flyers could really use a win at home against Toronto tonight. Dude's already had 2 goals on 5 shots in two games against the Leafs this season. Gostisbehere's 43 points in 61 games this season have carried the Flyers at times, and I think he'll do it again tonight. Toronto owns one of the NHL's worst road records of 14-23-2.

Goaltender

Martin JonesSan José ($8900) ... has been confirmed as the Sharks' starter at home tonight against Winnipeg. Jones has a tidy .930 save percentage in three career starts against the Jets and 36 wins already this season. San José still has a shot at a 100-point season but will need a win in both their remaining games. Winnipeg is another team that's been dreadful on the road this season, with a 15-20-4 record.

Your favorite Shot Dude hopes you put yourself in great position to have a winning night.
