Todd Gurley is Living the Dream This Pre-Season

With the notable exception of NFL owners, everyone seems to be in agreement regarding the complete uselessness of the lengthy pre-season football schedule.

It can be argued that there's merit to evaluating fringe players in game situations, but established players want nothing to do with it.

Most stars make brief cameos in these silly exhibitions, while others might sit out altogether.

But Todd Gurley is another matter.

Well, it appears that the Rams otherworldly tailback and his pre-pubescent head coach Sean McVay have negotiated some sort of arrangement as it pertains to the depressing period of time between the end of training camp and the beginning of the regular season.

And what, pray tell, is the nature of this agreement?

It involves this privileged dude not playing one single down during the pre-season.

As you can imagine, Gurley is feeling pretty okay at the moment.

Last season's total yardage and rushing touchdown leader even described his situation as an NFL player's dream, which is probably accurate and will force the rest of the league to live vicariously through him.

McVay is an undisputed boy wonder, having transformed Jeff Fisher's moribund offense into a perpetual highlight reel in one season, so we'll just have to trust his judgment.

The logic is clear, as a healthy and well-rested Gurley tends to do things like this:

Perhaps if everyone simply ignored the NFL pre-season, it would just go away.

Or maybe just pretend the national anthem is playing and kneel for 60 minutes.

Ah yes, the power of protest.
