The Pittsburgh Steelers Are Suffering from Premature Celebration

Now, that was a creative way to lose a football game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have cornered the market on pissing games and their entire season away, with the probable death blow coming Sunday in the Superdome.

The Fighting Tomlins pretty much controlled the second half against the Saints and were clinging to a 28-24 lead with under five minutes left in the game.

Then this happened:

Hmmm, interesting.

Obviously, this was a dubious decision, which Mike Tomlin claimed was made in the interest of being aggressive.

But let's examine the behavior of Roosevelt Nix, who received the ill-fated snap and lumbered up the middle.

Dude was almost a full yard short of the first down, yet engaged in an elaborate celebration that included a mic drop.

While premature celebration doesn't possess the stigma it once did, that gratuitous display was pretty embarrassing.

Nix wasn't the only Steeler soiling himself in public.

Check out Stevan Ridley being careless with the football and NFL-issued equipment:

What a shitshow.

Anyway, the Saints happiliy accepted these gifts and locked up the top seed in the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Steelers need a win and help next week just to qualify for the playoffs.

Precisely.
