SeaBass Makes a Business Decision on Kickoff Return TD

Kickers have been called many things, but football player is usually not among them.

With the occasional exception, dudes are looking to avoid contact if at all possible.

However, they're sometimes placed on an island on kickoffs if a good return is sprung, thus being forced into action.

Or they can simply follow the Sebastian Janikowski template.

This method is quite easy to learn, as the sole requirement is a complete lack of effort.

Observe:

As you can see, the new Seahawks kicker wasn't even pretending to make an attempt at an open-field tackle, like many kickers do when they flail helplessly and throw themselves to the ground.

The Polish Cannon has been kicking professionally for a very long time, and at the ripe old age of 40 isn't keen on throwing his body around anymore.

There is precedent for this apathetic football behavior from the savvy veteran.

That was back in 2011, when SeaBass was a bit more nimble.

Here's another from the same year:

And one more for good measure:

The longtime Oakland Raider was at least running on those last two, despite the horrific form.

Of course, the Seahawks lost to the Niners, 26-23 in OT, so the optics on that kick return score are very poor.

Oh, and SeaBass also missed an extra point, so that's not good either.

In an effort not to besmirch the entire kicking fraternity, we'll leave you with some footage of kickers actually initiating contact:

You're welcome.
