Angry White Dude: Get The Facts Straight!

Just the other day, I heard Michael Wilbon of ESPN's Pardon the Interruption show claim that Colin Kaepernick has been blackballed from the NFL.

I'm not really sure if Wilbon has the story straight.

But hey, that's why I'm here!

If being offered a chance at a job in the NFL is being blackballed, then maybe Wilbon's right.

Kaepernick was thisclose to being able to work out for the Seahawks.

The workout was called off because dude just doesn't get it. He refused to promise that he would not take a knee during the National Anthem.

Ohhhh, you don't want to follow the rules? OK, you can stay out of the NFL.

This is not being blackballed. It should be called being an ass.

How can a dude be blackballed when the Seahawks invited him to a workout?

Looks like Wilbon was wrong!

We all have bosses. We all have to follow certain guidlines when we're at work.

When I sing at some casinos, I have to wear a tux. When I officiate a ball game at any level, I can't wear my favorite white tennis shoes. Have to be black.

Got to be there at this time, can't leave until that time. Got to work this long and take a break that long.

If I choose to not follow the rules, I'll lose my job and so will each and every one of you out there in Daily Player land, which is a wonderful place to be!

Kaepernick is not being blackballed. Dude simply refuses to comply with the terms of his employers.

Right now, the NFL owners are pointing to a little-known league guideline on the anthem, pending their annual spring meeting in May. It's been there for a minute. Someone finally noticed.

So, for now, like it or not, local or long distance, The Shield has a leg to stand on.

Case closed.

Wilbon can't make this about race, either, because Seattle signed Stephen Morris, who just happens to be a black quarterback.

Morris has won just as many Super Bowls as good old Colin -- zero -- and he's probably delighted to do whatever it takes to make the roster and secure a spot in the NFL.

Morris will be standing during the anthem and -- if he makes the roster -- playing in the NFL.

For now, Kaepernick will be taking a knee and standing somewhere other than on an NFL field.
