Doug Pederson Publicly Turns On His Super Bowl MVP

There's documented evidence that the NFL is nothing more than a harsh, relentless meat grinder.

It's also extremely results-oriented.

Apparently, a Super Bowl MVP doesn't buy much rope in the modern NFL, as the heroic Nick Foles is discovering.

The journeyman QB who somehow caught lightening in a bottle is now catching public grief from his head coach Doug Pederson.

Well, after two inaccurate and turnover-addled pre-season performances, Pederson seems to have had enough.

We know this because he actually told Erin Andrews of Fox Sports that he was done and had seen enough.

While Foles isn't playing particularly well, this does seem like a bit of an overreaction.

Pederson, a successful product of the Andy Reid coaching tree, is now attempting to clarify his comments, claiming he was actually referring to the entire offense.

We know what Foles is capable of -- in short bursts anyway -- taking down cyborg Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Philly starter Carson Wentz is almost all the way back from that horrific knee injury, so he could conceivably return for Week 1.

However, it could be Foles under center, apparently to the chagrin of his head coach.

Of course, the alternative is someone named Nate Sudfeld, the pride of Indiana University.

What an absurd question.
