Apparently, The Rams Attempted to Trade for Khalil Mack

In their ongoing effort to create some sort of mutant football team, the Los Angeles Rams apparently made inquiries to the Oakland Raiders regarding Khalil Mack.

Of course, the ferocious Mack eventually landed in Chicago, where he'll no doubt invoke fear in the hearts of men in the NFC North for years to come.

However, the thought of Mack on the already-loaded Rams defense is the stuff of nightmare fuel.

For those who may need a refresher on the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, here's a mind bending highlight package.

Seriously, even if you specifically gameplan for this animal, it doesn't seem to matter.

Here's the thing, though.

The LA Rams defense is already crazy good, with the fabulously wealthy Aaron Donald as the lynchpin.

Yeah, dude's actually better than Mack, if you can believe it.

Fresh off their 2017 renaissance, the Rams spent money like bored housewives in the off-season, particularly on defense, where they added the likes of Ndamukong Suh, Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib.

That's ridiculous, but the thought of Mack being included with that group -- along with the other returning starters -- is just difficult to fathom.

Obviously, this didn't come to pass, as it seems the Raiders correctly assumed the Rams would be picking too low in the 2019 draft, making their trade proposal less attractive.

Anyway, the Rams would've needed some serious financial dexterity to actually pay Mack, Donald, and the rest of the gang.

No matter, though.

Things are just peachy for the Rams at the moment, and Mack should thrive in Chicago with the improving Bears.

Chucky and the Raiders are a separate issue.
