A Stray Football Rudely Interrupts an NFL Network Report by Melissa Stark
Sideline reporting isn't for the faint of heart.
Just ask Melissa Stark.
The lovely and talented NFL Network diva was doing her thing in London this past weekend for the much anticipated Chargers and Titans tussle when she was forced to go off-script.
Fortunately, we have moving pictures of the incident:
Well, @melissastark... I've been there. π π€¦π»βοΈ ... (Reminder: https://t.co/gpx452Yp2b) pic.twitter.com/BtpLQRK2vu

The industry term for that would be professional.
While Ian Rapoport may empathize, it's probably safe to assume that he wouldn't have handled this with such aplomb.
Stark barely paused after the attack began, finishing her report and even making light of the situation with some clever barbs.
Hurts more every time I watch it....literally NEVER happened in 20 years covering NFL ...London, I’ll never forget you!! π¬π§π¬π§ππ @nflnetwork @NFL @NFLUK (in case ur wondering, I’m already off the injury report) ππΌπͺπ½ pic.twitter.com/OsmB4wW0Jc

She did mention a questionable tag for herself, although the concussion protocol should probably be a consideration.
You really can't be too careful.
While Stark's competence is beyond reproach, we unfortunately can't say the same for whatever genius on the production crew decided to place Melissa in that specific location.
Let's just hope she keeps that head on a swivel in the future.
