A Confused Kiko Alonso Infiltrates Enemy Sideline During Game
Pre-season football may be a complete waste of time and effort, but it does provide an opportunity for teams to work on the fundamentals.
You know, like clock management or using the correct formation.
Oh, and returning to your own sideline after the play is over.
It's this last one that the Dolphins' Kiko Alonso needs to address.
Perhaps some clarification is in order.
The Miami LB made a pretty sweet tackle on third down to force a Ravens field goal attempt, but then things got weird:
Yeah, that's not good.
Clearly, the disoriented Alonso got the old bell rung on that tackle, which is of course perfectly normal but also completely terrifying in the context of traumatic brain injury.
He claims there was no concussion, but merely a brief spell of confusion.
The Ravens' sideline seemed to enjoy this senior moment, as special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg and head coach John Harbaugh were yucking it up like this was an open mic night at the Chuckle Hut.
Anyway, Alonso eventually found his way back to the Dolphins sideline, forced to explain his bizarre behavior, and apologize for the subsequent delay of game penalty.
The Ravens were surprisingly cordial to their uninvited guest, especially considering the sordid history between them.
Jesus, that was a brutal hit.
Without assistance from his teammates, Joe Flacco might've wandered into traffic judging from that glazed expression on his face.
Harbaugh was particularly enraged, but it appears that all fences have been mended.
Alonzo might want to lie down with a cold compress for a few minutes, though, just to be safe.
