UConn Really Doesn't Play Football Very Well

The UConn football season has ended, which probably comes as blessed relief to anyone affiliated with the program.

Barely missing out on bowl eligibility, the Huskies finished their 2018 campaign at 1-10, with the lone win coming at the expense of FCS opponent Rhode Island.

While all of this is of course very bad, it really doesn't tell the complete story.

To do that, we need to address the dumpster fire that cleverly disguised itself as the Huskies' defense this season.

Uconn finished up at home against Temple, treating their fans to a 57-7 beating at the hands of the Owls.

Let's take an inventory of the damage:

That's hard to watch.

The carnage from this game only added to the Huskies' bleak season numbers.

Dudes gave up 516 yards to the Owls, which brought their total to a mind-blowing 7,409 for the season.

Basic division tells us that UConn allowed 617 yards per game in 2018.

That would be a record.

Unfortunately, there's more to report.

The pride of the American Athletic Conference gave up 605 points in 12 games.

You guessed it, that's the most points allowed by a major college team in NCAA history.

Hey, here's a fun stat:

If only some governing body could've just cancelled a portion of the season, all this needless suffering might've been averted.

Reports that UConn football will be joining the Big XII next season have yet to be confirmed.
