Tragically, the 2018 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl Isn't Happening

Despite the fact that there are roughly 243 bowl games on the schedule this year, every single one of them is special and unique.

You know, like a snowflake.

Even the First Responder Bowl, proudly sponsored by SERVPRO and played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, demands to be cherished and held close to our bosom.

However, in a cruel, weather-related twist of fate, the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl has been cancelled.

We're afraid so.

It certainly wasn't for lack of trying, though.

The game actually did begin, with Boston College jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead.

Then the elements conspired to sabatoge this annual religious experience.

Despite this undeniably shiity development, not everyone's fun was spoiled, as the operator of the official SERVPRO First Responder Bowl twitter account was still in good spirits:

At this point, the anticipation of football action resuming is palpable.

Now resignation has clearly set in, and the humor really begins to flow:

Well, it certainly can't hurt, either.

But the fun couldn't last forever.

Now what?

This much we do know.

The 2019 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl is going to be pure electricity.

Hopefully, Boston College and Boise State are invited back to finish what they started.

At least they each got their extra practices. Bummer for the seniors, but it's something for everyone else.
