Derek Mason Grants an Emotionally Unhinged Post-Game Interview after Vandy's Upset Win

College football inspires much fire and passion from everyone involved.

Apparently, this even applies at Vanderbilt.

This past weekend, the Commodores were somehow able to beat a ranked SEC opponent, which is about as rare as it sounds.

Embattled head coach Derek Mason was all lathered up immediately following the win, for a number of reasons:

Someone get that dude a sedative.

While he didn't actually strike ESPN sideline reporter Dawn Davenport, she did seem genuinely alarmed.

We should point out that Missouri is far from a great team, as the intrepid on-field correspondent labeled them, but this does count as a prestige win for a program such as Vanderbilt.

There's been much speculation about Mason's job security, which prompted this professional wrestling promo, but his contention that there's a line of folks wanting to be head football coach at Vanderbilt sounds like madness.

While they appear to be a scrappy bunch, there's literally no possibility of the Commodores competing on a regular basis in the SEC.

The Internet thinks Mason is just adorable:

That's precisely what you saw.

Indeed, most dudes couldn't handle the relentless misery.

Sadly, all this did was delay the inevitable.

But what a ride.
