Beyond the greed and discrimination the FBS harbors against its own membership, there's at least one decision it got right.
Giving the Army-Navy game its own weekend so it can take center stage.
It's more than a throwback to a bygone era, of course, when this was one of college football's dominant rivalries.
It's also a tribute to the dedication of players who's next stop in life is to put themselves in harm's way for the good of their country.
It takes a different kind of kid to commit to protecting our country.

After a spell where Navy won 14 games in a row to take a 60-51-7 lead in the series, Army's came storming back to take the last two prior to this one.
With a 17-10 grinder now in the books, the Black Knights of the Hudson have now claimed three in a row, after dispensing with the most awkward of ceremonies, of course:
The Cadets came into this game enjoying one of their best seasons ever, are now 10-2, and bound for the anticlimatic Lockheed Martin -- who else? -- Armed Forces Bowl against Houston, a club that outlasted Navy, 49-36, in AAC play.
Navy, on the other hand, suffered through a 3-10 season and is going home.
And until next December, all of them will be getting back to their task at hand.
Reality.
