And the Academy Award Goes to Some Defensive Lineman from Auburn

We've all enjoyed the art of the flop over the years, perfected most notably in the NBA by visionaries such as Vlade Divac and Manu Ginobli.

In football, we see the ol' fake injury trope all the time, which is more or less a distant cousin of the flop.

This tactic has been used with varying degrees of success by teams to stop the clock or get personnel on the field.

Of course, some of these performances are less than convincing, which brings us to the subject at hand.

The following one-man show was delivered during a SEC bloodletting between the Tigers of LSU and another group of Tigers from Auburn.

Prepare to be dazzled by the committed method acting of Big Cat Bryant:

Move over, Daniel Day Lewis.

Unfortunately for the Auburn defensive lineman and thespian, CBS analyst Gary Danielson decided to drink his milkshake, pointing out the gratuitous nature of the deception.

An LSU player noticed the tomfoolery, as well, but it didn't really matter, as Heisman hopeful and exhibitionist Joe Burrow scored shortly thereafter:

While Bryant gets points for effort and creativity, he may never rise above the level of community theater.

It's important to support the arts.
