Alabama and Georgia Clinch Their SEC Divisions

One would be excused for thinking SEC stands for Same Every CFP.

To the shock of absolutely no one -- except maybe blinkered Bayou Bengal fans -- the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs have punched their tickets to the conference title game in Atlanta.

To say they did so in emphatic fashion would be an understatement.

Getting there this season was a major achievement for Nick Saban.

Not so for the team. Just Saban.

Dude's gotta be racking every convolution in his brain to come up with a new get off my lawn moment each week, but damned if he never disappoints.

Of course, Saban still falls back on the reliable student body bitch, where he gets on their case for not giving three hours of autumn Saturdays for the Old Inevitable.

Especially when the Tide are paying Southwest Nowhere State for a glorified scrimmage.

That item was the motivator this weekend, as dude told the Tide to turn their last road trip of the regular season into a statement game, as in forcing LSU to lose, 29-0:

Maybe his next motivator will be to tell the Tide he turned down the NFL Expansion Committee's invitation and will keep doing so until the waterboys shape up.

Meanwhile, up north a couple of states, Georgia gave a harsh reminder to upstart Kentucky as to who's who in the zoo. To the tune of a 34-17 repelling:

These results set up another master-grasshopper moment.

For now, anyway, Kirby Smart can only dream about this day:

Smart's followed Saban's blueprint. He's got the glory boys, but more importantly, he's recruited and developed o-linemen and d-linemen who can be hired out as bulldozers.

However, the Bulldogs are still at that stage where those dudes gotta collectively morph into o-line ands d-lines.

If it happens consistently enough, maybe that'll be when he snatches that stone.
