Wofford Plans to Do Some Woofin' in the First Round

It's not often a team comes outta the Southern Conference and is touted as the hottest club in the country.

That's Wofford, though.

Dudes own a 20-game winning streak. Before that, the Terriers had only lost to the likes of North Carolina, Kansas, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma.

In other words, they did a Gonzaga, scheduling hard in the non-con portion of their season to get ready for a March Madness run.

 

Wofford earned that No 7 seed, but the Seton Hall Pirates are the sorta sneaky-challenge club that could offer them a first-round surprise.

Seton Hall performed well in their non-cons this season, going 11-4, but the Pirates were inconsistent in the Big East. Dudes did wrap up with wins over heavyweights Marquette and Villanova. Over the last 10, they're 6-4 and 7-3 ATS.

Myles Powell did tons of damage on offense during the Big East tournament, racking up 26.0 points per game to help Seton Hall finish as a runner-up to Villanova. Powell's their most reliable source of offense. When he's in peak form, Seton Hall is tough to beat.

When the Terriers are lighting it up from the arc, they're tough to handle. That's been the case for most of their season. Dudes rank second nationally in 3-point FG percentage at .416. Fletcher Magee leads the nation with 151 made treys and scores 20.5 points per game.

Wofford's also good at taking care of the rock, giving up only 11.0 per game. That's led them to have a +3.0 turnover margin per game on the season. They're also much more consistent in their play, something that Seton Hall is not.
