Q: What's the one thing that's never seen in championship games?
A: The victory caps and T-shirts that were printed up in case the team that lost that game won.
Like, say, the Cleveland Indians' and Atlanta Falcons' championship gear, UConn's stuff is on the way to clothe needy people in the Third World.
So maybe that'll take the sting out of what happened to the UConn Huskies in the NCAA Women's national semi-final that went into overtime:
Mississippi State 66 Connecticut 64.
Amid the joy, something else was missing and won't be around for the title game, either.
They'll manage.
The Bulldogs also won't be taking South Carolina for granted. Dudettes won't even need long memories, as opposed to a factor in their motivation to redeem themselves against UConn.
They lost to the Huskies in last year's tourney by 60 points.
This means we'll see more of State's obligatory celebrity fan, played by Dak Prescott, doing his best to live up to the role of Bill Murray at Xavier, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss at Northwestern -- to be fair, her kid's on the team -- and a host of others.
In other news, UConn's next mammoth winning streak will start in Fall 2017.
