The John Calipari Coaching Defense Fund

There are a wide variety of groups that are exploited and marginalized on a daily basis.

Most would not include NCAA basketball coaches.

However, don't try convincing John Calipari otherwise.

The wildly successful and often entertaining Kentucky Wildcats head coach recently went to bat for the entirety of his coaching brethren in a post-game rant after his team barely held on for a road win at Georgia.

First of all, we'd be remiss to not reference the fake media comment at the end of the rant.

Very well done, sir.

While this little spiel was universal in nature, Calipari did specifically mention Georgia's Mark Fox and the recently fired Mark Gottfried of North Carolina State, making convincing cases for both of them.

Of course, there are a few valid points made here about the fickle nature of college athletics and impossible standards set by schools and their respective fan bases.

That being said, perhaps Calipari should just slow his roll for a moment.

At last check, these dudes are compensated quite well to coach them some NCAA hoops.

It also bears mentioning that while the kids playing the actual basketball face restrictions when wanting to change schools, the coaches can and do break contracts and go wherever they please.

So just maybe the eternal struggle of the NCAA coaching fraternity should be placed in the proper perspective.

Meanwhile, Coach Cal will no doubt continue to speak his mind on other important societal movements.

Just don't ask John Chaney to sign up.
