PG13 Is Pissed; Pacers Divorce Possible?

The life of an NBA star is a difficult one.

It may seem easy with the money, the status, and the nightlife.

But don’t let any of that fool you.

These dudes care about winning it all.

Just look at the recent history of big names leaving for greener pastures:

Be it LeBron James taking his talents to South Beach or Kevin Durant abandoning Russ for the allure of Golden State, NBA stars are willing to throw it all away for a chance to form the next super-team.

Pacers star Paul George is no exception.

Had to do it. A symbol of happier times.

Anyway, that Paul George is no exception.

Indiana entered the season with what seemed like a solid starting rotation.

The team acquired a new PG and PF in the form of trades for Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young. Besides brining in a scoring big -- albeit a declining one -- in Al Jefferson, the team also returned solid dudes like Monta Ellis, CJ Watson, and CJ Miles.

Oh yeah ... Indiana also imported a new coach in Nate McMillan to help fix the locker room problems that destroyed the last Pacers crew.

Of course, it goes without saying that how the Pacers go all falls on their star, Paul George.

Even after making so many moves, it seemed like Indiana may have once again put themselves in the championship conversation. Unfortunately, their season has played out more like chumps than champs.

With the playoffs a mere two weeks out, the Pacers -- at 37-38 -- are barley clinging to the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference.

NBA East standings

Back-to-back losses to Minnesota and Memphis the last two nights, which showed how little impact a certain pep talk had.

After the Timberwolves loss, PG13 absolutely tore into his teammates, saying they lacked stuff like urgency and winning pride. You might say George has had enough.

Even if the Pacers can hold on to thatplayoff spot, there's little hope come postseason.

With only a year left on George’s contract, it’s time for the Pacers to consider a possible future without PG13.

If Larry Bird was willing to listen to offers for his star at the trade deadline, why shouldn’t he do the same come draft time?

Teams like the Lakers and Celtics could offer some decent rebuilding packages with high picks and young players.

Alternatively, Indiana could hope that George commits to making the Pacers his permanent home.

It’s not like an NBA star has spurned his home in free agenyc before.
