NBA Mascots Gone Wild: Part 2

The Phoenix Suns Gorilla, affectionately known as 'Go', is one of the more beloved mascots in all of professional sports.

This silly creature performs all manner of stunts and schtick during games.

Recently though, he became a bit too involved in the proceedings.

Look at this menace:

The slide was quite impressive, but what would compel this beast to do such a thing?

Actually, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation.

Go likes to bang on a drum to stimulate the fans in Phoenix.

Unfortunately, one of his drumsticks flew out on the court, and he was forced to retrieve it.

The Washington Wizards' player standing nearby looked slightly alarmed and was probably wondering why this gorilla was trying to take out his knees.

The fact that play continued is also interesting. It makes one ponder just what it would take to initiate a stoppage in play.

When not attempting to interrupt NBA games, Go is actually pretty entertaining.

That is quality.

Despite this incident, Go is still widely loved.

Well, perhaps not by Steve Nash.
