Melo Gets His Wish; Leaves Big Apple for OKC

Maybe Carmelo Anthony decided he'd just like to have a house in the country.

And to many New Yorkers, the American Midwest is the country.

If so, dude owes his fairy godmother.

He had to slash his no-trade list a bit, but the New York Knicks finally found a match:

Well, now the Thunder have one end of the court covered.

Melo is nothing if not the missing piece for Billy Donovan's system, which actually features the other end of the court.

So, does this make them a contender in the already-contentious NBA West?

With the NBA becoming a positionless game, Anthony will clearly have no trouble sharing time and space with George.

Rounding out the starters, then, will likely be André Roberson on the perimeter with Russell Westbrook and New Zealand's version of The Thing, none other than Steven Adams.

So the Thunder take field trips. Who knew?

This is definitely gonna be Melo's kinda team.

As to the Knicks, the harsh reality is they're getting a couple of Western Conference subs who will become starters for them.

If that doesn't get straight to the bottom line, nothing else will.
