Vince Carter Returns for a 21st Season

Pitcher-turned-author Jim Bouton's famous observation is as relevant in hoops as it is on the diamond:

You spend your life gripping a baseball, and it turns out that it was the other way around all along.

Vince Carter said he is gonna make the rounds more time.

Dude's entering his 21st season in the NBA, a feat that very few have been able to accomplish.

Better hope so.

This decision could be an indication of Carter's durability, but most likely his inability to let go of a good thing.

Back in the day, Carter was one to be reckoned with. The fifth overall pick in the 1998 NBA draft, dude quickly made his mark on the league.

Carter soared as one of the league's elites, picking up nicknames like Vinsanity and Mr Air Canada.

He's an eight-time All-Star.

What's next?

Don't think so. That'd be a SacKing wet dream.

Or whomever's.

Although Carter's not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound anymore, if he works a deal with someone, it'll be because they'd be banking on two things:

  • He can still put patooties in seats, and
  • He can be a mentor to players who were toddlers when his career began.

'Bout right.

If someone actually does sign Carter, it'd be time to do the time warp again.
