The Pirate Ship Isn't Sinking.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have the somewhat rare task of ending a small losing streak Saturday in Miami, and it looks like tonight it will happen.

The Bucs have dropped two straight including last night's loss to the Marlins. Tonight they send Charlie Morton to the hill as they look to avoid the three game skid.

Morton comes in with a record of 2-2 and an ERA of 3.35 and will be handed the ball as the Pirates try to avoid a losing streak of more than two games which has only happened four times this season.

The Pirates are 24-14 in games coming off a loss this season and that's a big reason why I will back them today. Not to mention Miami’s starter Tom Koehler is winless at home with season with a 6.35 ERA.

Pirate bats have gone quiet as of late, but I don't see that trend continuing for long. Just check out the Smart Chart using Bovada's data tool on our Home Page and you will see the Pirates dominating nearly every statistical category this season. The price is a little steep at -155 at Bovada, but I think it's very safe against Koehler and Miami and I will be backing the Buccos.

My pick: Pittsburgh     -155
