Tottenham's Son Shines All Over Palace

Well, if you're break back into the victory column, you may as well do it with flair.

Tottenham Hotspur did all of that, shattering Crystal Palace with four goals in the first half and spending the rest of the afternoon apparently admiring the splendor of their new digs on the way to their 4-0 triumph.

It'd been a while. Mauricio Pochettino's crew hadn't secured a three-point day since the season's opening weekend.

If he could bottle up what Spurs did today, he'd be looking forward to another campaign in Europe next season. As it stands, he's gotta be optimistic, anyway.

Heung-Min Son led the way with two goals, with Erik Lamela chipping in and a Patrick van Aanholt own goal wrapping up the scoring.

Spurs gave Palace no chance from Minute 1. Harry Kane wound up getting the day's first opportunity, but for once, he didn't earn the honors.

That went to Son in the 10th minute. Following a long ball from Toby Alderweireld, the South Korean international was faster than Mamadou Sakho to cut inside and find nylon:

One became two in the 21st.

That's when van Anholt tried to clear a Serge Aurier cross but didn't:

Two minutes later, Aurier triggered the action again.

Dude scampered down the right side and, this time, dimed it to Son, who showed class with his volley home:

The fourth came in the 42nd minute, as Kane moved down the right side and crossed it to Lamela.

Dude did the rest with a clever finish through the keeper's legs:

After that sorta demolition, there was really nothing left to do in the second 45 but to bask in it.

So they did.

Dudes will be in a fine mood to visit Greece for a Champions League appointment with Olympiakos on Tue 17 Sep.

With Kane keeping his powder dry today, odds are he'll be primed to take a productive turn in that one. After breaking out today, Tottenham look primed to start charging up the outside lane and bearing down on the Premiership title favorites.
