Dak Prescott Demands $40million a Year in Exchange for Being Completely Average

There's no position in professional sports today more valuable than an NFL QB.

It's become nearly impossible to win consistently without stability at this position.

As a result, salaries have predictably spiked to comically absurd levels, with merely competent now passing for greatness.

A current example of this bad craziness can be found in Dallas, where QB Dak Prescott just turned down a $30million per year contract extension.

Well, from what we can gather, it's because he'd prefer something in the neighborhood of $40million for average annual salary.

Now on the surface, this sounds like utter madness.

However, from former Mississippi State Bulldog's perspective, he'd be foolish not to press for more, as the fluidity of the QB market dictates strategic maneuvering.

The most recent extension was given to Philly slinger Carson Wentz, who doesn't exactly make our socks roll up and down.

The Eagles decided it'd be prudent to extend the injury-prone ginger to the tune of four years and $128million.

When Prescott and his agent saw that update on the ESPN ticker, they probably soiled themselves with glee, because Dak has a better résumé.

Meanwhile in Jerry World, the Clampetts wept openly.

Dak is actually somewhat sympathetic as a fourth-round pick who pretty much got dicked over on his rookie deal, similar to every other fourth-round pick.

In the end, he'll get paid handsomely, because the alternative for teams who play musical chairs with this position is mortifying.

John was probably out looking for the next Paxton Lynch.
