Cleveland's Perfect Season 2.0 Parade Is On

The Browns' final hope for a win in 2017 drifted away in the snow flurries at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Not that it was difficult to predict.

Last summer, Bovada offered what's got to be the Christmas gift of the new century when it posted Cleveland's win total over-under at 5 and only listed the under juice at -125.

Who else took out a second mortgage in August and started planning for an exotic vacation, a heavy Bitcoin investment -- Bovada pays out with it -- and/or an early retirement?

That was like betting everything that Monday follows Sunday.

And the Browns didn't disappoint.

The momentous occasion that sealed the deal came in Week 12, somewhere near LA where the Chargers camp out, hiding from their fans. Its ending was perfect for the situation:

Speaking of perfect ...

One Browns fan has taken action to celebrate the only shot at perfection the team has left:

Cleveland wraps up this forlorn campaign next weekend in Pittsburgh.

No chance.

That meant only one team stood between the Browns and avoiding the Big Donut, and the Bears stood strong:

Hello, first overall draft pick.

Some of the slingers who have the option of declaring early are reportedly having second thoughts. This isn't just because it's the Browns per se, but the Browns' burn rate for QBs since Jimmy Haslam bought the team:

browns qb's since 2012

As matters stand right now, USC's Sam Darnold says he's undecided about entering the 2018 draft while UCLA's Josh Rosen can't wait to go pro.

Apparently, though, Rosen can wait to be a Brown.

Wyoming's Josh Allen's already declared. Seniors obviously have no choice, unless they're into rouge, 12-a-side, and all sortsa backfield in motion:

As if.

Sounds like the Browns had better come up with a helluva sales pitch, kinda like Urban Meyer does every off-season.

And be glad Dabo Sweeny isn't a rival NFL coach.
