Djokovic Smashes Anderson to Win Another Wimbledon

This was over as soon as the men's singles semi-finals were in the books.

On one side, Kevin Anderson out-aced John Isner -- 6-4, 3-6, 6-7, 7-6, 70-68 -- in a shootout with a fifth set that confirmed neither dude had much more than a serve.

How else does it get to 70-68 if neither player can string together two points in a row?

On the other, who knew that Grand Slam tennis featured indoor-outdoor two-day matches?

Most players will contend that those are different sortsa games, as anyone who's played a certain Serb indoors will attest.

So, under that assumption, Novak Djokovic took out Rafael Nadal -- 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (11-9) on Friday and 3-6, 10-8 on Saturday -- and merrily went back to his digs for the fortnight to practice raising the championship trophy.

Clearly, practice pays off.

To absolutely no one's surprise, Djokovic brushed Anderson aside to the tune of 6-2,6-2, 7-6 (7-3) in which Anderson's only breaks came between games.

It's the fourth time Djokovic has hoisted the hardware and surely the easiest one he's ever earned.

This puts his Slam total at 13, but it's dude's first since the 2016 French Open.

He was seeded No 13 for Wimbledon this year, so the victory will help his ranking. Hopefully, he'll keep the upward trend going.

That way, maybe a Djokovic vs Nadal, Federer, Murray or whomever can do more than serve will become the champion's match played in the championship slot.
