With Bayern Notched, Manchester City Sets Sights on AS Roma
Maybe things are finally looking up for the Citizens.
Recurring hero Sergio Agüero gave Manchester City a Champions League lifeline with his hat trick accounting for a 3-2 result over a 10-man FC Bayern side at the Etihad last week.
This achievement looked near impossible after a patch of two losses and two draws in the competition, so this was must-win match for City. The intensity was there, too, just like a very late goal against QPR that gave Manchester City the Premiership title.
Agüero must be getting used to this. Then again, it's why he's paid a king's ransom. He definitely earns it.
Not bad, dude, not bad.
So, what was about to be a humiliation turned out to be domination. City’s big players were asked to answer their big salaries and they did. The Sky Blues now have a chance to knock out AS Roma on Wed 10 Dec, hoping Bayern will emerge victorious in their tilt that evening against CSKA Moscow. If so, they advance.
