This 'Pool's Too Deep for Barça
The giants of football fell prey to a club that was once among its biggest names.
Barcelona met Liverpool in yet another International Champions Cup cash grab, and to everyone surprise, they got smackeroo'd, 0-4, to the dudes in Red.
Yes, it's pre-season, and at least this sport's big brands play their stars -- as opposed to similar top-dollar chargers for exhibitions like the NFL -- but Barça getting drubbed by four goals in any match is a once in a blue moon moment.
Liverpool put a damn good mark on everybody, but saved their best for the Catalans' beleagured back four.
Sadio Mané has already proved to be a huge bargain for the Merseysiders, and he showed again how much he's reveling in Jürgen Klopp's system, as he fired the first salvo through Barça's defense:
If Barça can't defend an attack, then it’s a top-notch attack.
Javier Mascherano showed love to his former club -- that, incidentally, would be the 'Pool -- as he scored an own goal for them:
Once a Red, always a Red?
Then again, never look back, dude.
Divock Origi made full use of Blaugrana errors as he kept the train rolling:
Just another hint that it's still early August.
The icing on the cake came from Marko Grujić, as he treated the crowd to the full value of their tickets:
Dude must be phenomenal in physics, what with crafting a perfect trajectory like that.
With an entire season ahead of him, who knows what he'll conjure up next?
