The 'Pool Gets Stung by Watford

Liverpool may just be big on paper but not on the field these days.

Underdogs Watford came up with a rather strong answer to the Reds' visit, claiming a 3-0 whitewash against the Merseysiders.

Jürgen Klopp didn't want to shake hands with West Brom manager Tony Pulis after escaping with a draw the other night, and Liverpool fans may do the same to him now. Looks like the Premiership's Zeitgeist is to lose to smaller teams these days.

The first goal was conceded in Liverpool's usual way:

Simon Mignolet misses the catch and David Aké scores. Every time the same routine. It's just what the 'Pool does.

But there was nothing wrong with the second goal the Reds conceded:

It was just brilliance from Odion Ighalo. Frankly, this one was reminiscent of the Hornets' trademark Route 1 tactics that Graham Taylor introduced back in the 1980s when Elton John bought the traditionally downtrodden club because he'd been a lifelong fan.

Too bad top-flight ownership requires another comma in its bottom line now.

Meanwhile, back at the match, Liverpool’s defensive barrier still wasn't up to the task as Ighalo found the net yet again:

There was so much space and time for Ighalo that Chelsea could've changed managers.

Oh, wait.
