The Gunners See Off Sorry Manchester City

Usually, Arsenal shows this sort of form comes after January.

But it seems their New Year has come early.

The Gunners shot past Manchester City with a 2-1 result in their own digs.

It was a proper Premiership match in every way. Two teams fighting for glory with big egos. Both had their share of dings and dregs, but championship caliber clubs rise above them.

It was that incarnation of The Flash, Theo Walcott, who got the home side up and running:

Dude's twinks are a blur and harbor bazookas.

Mesut Özil, the assist maestro, then set up the Gunners' sniper extradinaire, Olivier Giroud, to crush the Citizens' hopes of pulling even a point out of the day:

City mounted challenges, but but nothing worked. So, when Yaya Touré took up the charge, it may have been too little, too late, but at least it was worth the price of admission:

Even better than Eric Cantona’s goal.
